In the spirit of the occasion, I thought it was high time I made a confession of sorts. Contrary to the impression you may or may not have gained from my blog thus far, this anglaise is not, in fact, a lone adventurer. *Cue dramatic music.* Not on these particular adventures, anyhow.
No, there is, in fact, another fairly significant character in my story to whom I would like to introduce you: my best friend and flatmate, Jeremy. He also happens to be my other half romantically. Hence the timing of the introduction.
You’ll have to forgive me for not introducing him sooner – I can assure you there was no intentional deception. But you see, he didn’t join me in Paris until several weeks into my story, and you know when you haven’t mentioned something like that in the first place, before you know it, it gets to the point where it would be strange to just drop it in all of a sudden and you find yourself needing to figure out the proper way.
Well, this is my way, so there you go, you’re acquainted. I’m sure you’re going to get on just fine. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a Valentine’s date in the City of Lights. À bientôt!

Oh how lovely, thank you very much! This really made me smile – I loved your note “for armchair travelers to the City of Lights”, it perfectly captures what I’m going for ☺️ I have a long mental list of blog posts bursting to be written (time constraints are more of a hindrance than I had anticipated in this blogging malarkey!) but I would love to do a respond post if I get the chance, it’s such a nice idea. And thank you! He did a very good job of living up to the high bar set in such a romantic location – I came home to a tray of homemade red velvet cupcakes set out with a bottle of wine and a pair of glasses, a beautiful bouquet, and a whole ‘carnet’ of cute little IOUs! 😊

Yes I find this blogging can be very time-consuming, more than I had anticipated, so no pressure to pass it on, as I explained in my blog I’ve had to turn them down due to time constraints. You have a great blog and I just wanted to share it. I don’t know if you read my Valentine’s Day blog, An Interview with Jane Austen, but your Mr. Darcy sounds like a keeper!

Well I appreciate that ever so much, thank you. I hadn’t caught your Valentine’s post, but I just went and read it now – Pride & Prejudice is perhaps my favourite book, so I had to have a read. What a wonderful post! I smiled all the way through the ‘interview’, brilliantly imagined/written, I loved it from start to finish. And my ‘Mr Darcy’ just read your comment over my shoulder and it appears to have made his day 😉 A keeper indeed, I’m a lucky lady!
